Mondi South Africa is a division of Mondi, an international packaging and paper Group which employs around 25 000 people across more than 30 countries. The Richards Bay mill recently had their annual shutdown. Having made significant capital investments to ensure that their mill meets international standards in terms of product quality, competitive costs and environmental management the shutdown is required to maintain, repair, service or bring in new parts for machinery. 

Rand-Air, the largest fleet of compressors and generators for hire in South Africa, was commissioned to ensure that the electrical and compressed air supply was maintained during their shut period.

With a reputation of exceeding customer service and expectation, Rand-Air delivered on this by providing a number of quality and reliable oil-free compressors and generators to the project.  “This was the first time that a high pressure machine was used and the results were positive,” explains Annetjie Van Der Merwe, Rand-Air’s sales representative that oversaw the project.
